FF Rootes - 1st Place in another class!

Firefighter Tierney Rootes decided to take on the Loudoun County School System Social Sciences Fair this year.

Her category: Local History in Loudoun County...

Her Subject: "J.B." Anderson's Impact on the Community

Armed with LOTS of questions for me to answer and a lot of picture gathering from days past, Tierney began her quest to win it all!

Tierney established an awesome timeline in my history and by following the red, white, & blue ribbbon, my work in life was an example even I was impressed with (go figure!?) - I had forgotten many things but her work reminded me that I should be feeling good about my work in life -

and when I saw what she had done, and then watched as my pride and joy students finished the year, I saw how much it really meant.

What a proud moment for me, Tierney's Mom, and all the parents of the Magnificent 7 (+2).

After conquering each step to get to the finals in the Loudoun County Social Sciences Fair, the judges came to a resounding decision:

1ST PLACE GOES TO TIERNEY ROOTES!!!

Proud Mom, Firefighter Rootes, and the subject of the story get together after the awards ceremony for a photo op!

Tierney's Teacher was proud as well!

Thank you Tierney - Everyone that has seen your work has been greatly impressed but I am HONORED you chose me for the topic.

It was an honor to do my social science fair on one of my living heroes! This man has helped me accomplish so much, and our community in so many ways that people don't even take the time to realize. I still can't believe I won first place!
