Farewell to a HeroDignity Honor Appreciation Love
A FINAL FAREWELL TO A HERO
It was a moment to think of the wonderful life of Specialist Stephan Mace - a true American Hero. Time to reflect on all those he touched in his life - cut short by terrorists who did not know the value of life or those that believe are men are created equal - and deserve the right to live as they choose.
But for Stephan, he knew...he knew...
Stephan knew what fun and friends and family and his country meant to him.
Stephan - brave, fearless to the end - who, in his final moments, left his St. Christopher medal with Commanding Officer to give to his comrades.
Awards of the Bronze Medal, the Purple Heart, the Nato Award, and other medals speak of how the world, the United States of America, and all who knew him, feel about him - a hero to the end - a believer in the rights of freedom for all mankind - a son who loved his family - a friend who will always be remembered - and deserves all the respect true mankind can bestow.
The ceremony is solemn - from the folded flags given to his mother, his father, and his grandparents, to the 21 gun salute, to the playing of taps by the lone bugler, to the final sounds of Amazing grace from the bagpipes - the words spoken by the Chaplain, the preacher, the Command Officers, and his country...
It is a memory of HONOR -
a memory of LOVE
a memory for those veterans who made it home from battles like Stephan had fought and won't let his ULTIMATE SACRIFICE be forgotten...
a respect for a true man, a son, a grandson, a brother, a friend, a teammate, a stranger, an AMERICAN HERO...
God will bless Stephan forever, and all of us will bless his memory -
Rest in Peace, Stephan - Rest in Peace
To leave a memory or note in honor of Stephan...
